A Child is born...

Family Under the Weather

My family and I have all been under the weather this past week, first our son came down with a mild cold, then our DD and I got this awful stomach virus which somehow we managed to pass on to my husband so it has been a sick bay these last few days. We had been getting ready for Christmas and I was happy to know we were kind of getting there early...we also had a painter lined up to do some painting for us before we put up our decorations. We waited for him for a whole week, he never turned up and kept coming up with all sorts of reasons and/or excuses. In the meantime we had our living/dining room furniture all covered and placed in one corner and everything else packed up!

One week of waiting was enough, we are putting everything in place, the job will have to wait and most probably we will have to get another painter.

As they say when it rains, it pours, it was raining this evening and we have our street being resurfaced so there is a terrible continuous noise from the machines. I am also so far behind on my crafts and I was hoping to get ready for my Christmas sale/exhibition next weekend. We are hoping things will settle down so we can get ready for Christmas.

As an on-line friend joked with me earlier today, she said, "I have heard a saying about the family that ??? together stays together but I think the word is PLAY".

Back on line...yes, thanks I'm fine!

It seems like I haven't been here for ages. Many thanks to those of you who have contacted me in some way or another to ask if I was OK. Well in a way yes I am quite alright now, but I had to deal with a health issue recently in our family and of course that takes priority over everything else. Thanks and praise be to God everything's fine now and we are slowly getting back to normal. Will try to pick up where I left off.

This afternoon I finished making the scarecrow in the picture, the head and hat I bought ready made but I dressed him up with shirt and dungarees, straw and all! I am really pleased with the way he looks! Stay safe, drive carefully and have a wonderful weekend.
