Family Under the Weather

My family and I have all been under the weather this past week, first our son came down with a mild cold, then our DD and I got this awful stomach virus which somehow we managed to pass on to my husband so it has been a sick bay these last few days. We had been getting ready for Christmas and I was happy to know we were kind of getting there early...we also had a painter lined up to do some painting for us before we put up our decorations. We waited for him for a whole week, he never turned up and kept coming up with all sorts of reasons and/or excuses. In the meantime we had our living/dining room furniture all covered and placed in one corner and everything else packed up!
One week of waiting was enough, we are putting everything in place, the job will have to wait and most probably we will have to get another painter.
As they say when it rains, it pours, it was raining this evening and we have our street being resurfaced so there is a terrible continuous noise from the machines. I am also so far behind on my crafts and I was hoping to get ready for my Christmas sale/exhibition next weekend. We are hoping things will settle down so we can get ready for Christmas.
As an on-line friend joked with me earlier today, she said, "I have heard a saying about the family that ??? together stays together but I think the word is PLAY".

  1. Hope you and your family feel better soon! Its Murphy's Law, that if something can go wrong it will. I'm not a fan of Murphy :o) I hope all comes together for you soon though and everyone gets back to their regular routine

  3. I hope everyone there begins to feel better soon! I think there's nothing worse than a stomach virus! The girls and I have been since for almost 2 weeks now. There's just no end in sight! I know what you mean by being behind in Christmas things! There's only 2 weeks left, and I don't think I'm going to get caught up!
